Driving whilst Disqualified

You may be disqualified following a conviction or by being under the minimum age for that type of vehicle. If you drive you must ensure that you are legally entitled to do so. It is no defence to say that you thought the disqualification had expired, or that you did not know you had been disqualified. This is a serious matter and you must seek legal advice. This can only be tried in a Magistrates’ Court.

Maximum penalty:

Fine up to £5,000 or up to 6 months imprisonment
Discretionary disqualification
